The AK IK has the task of ensuring the uniformity of the gespational reference data and its provision from the perspective of information and communication technology in the context of a geodata infrastructure.

Maintenance and further development of the AAA® application scheme

• Information technology coordination
• Data model, AAA® basic schema
• Data exchange, standards-based exchange interface (NAS)
• AAA®-compliant modeling and connection of specialist information systems
• Documentation, GeoInfoDoc

Observation, development and recommendation of standards and norms

• Standards and norms for geoinformation (DIN, CEN, ISO, OGC)
• Specifications for services (metadata, visualization, evaluation, access)
• Coordination with other standardization initiatives (KooPADV, SAGA, OSCI)

Geodata infrastructure - information technology tasks

• Recommendation of standardized services for geobase and geotechnical data (application profiles for geoservices)
• Coordination of information technology GDI activities within the AdV
• Coordination of information technology GDI activities for the AdV at national and European level (GDI-DE, INSPIRE)
