Objectives and tasks of the AdV

The member authorities work together in the AdV in order to

• to uniformly regulate technical matters of fundamental and nationwide importance for official surveying and mapping,
• to create a fundamentally uniform inventory of geospational reference data that is oriented towards the requirements of the information society and 
• to provide the infrastructure for geospational reference data as an important component for modern e-government architectures. 

In order to achieve these objectives, the AdV fulfills the following tasks:

• Establishment and coordination of future-oriented joint concepts for the nationwide standardization of real estate cadastres, land surveys and basic geoinformation systems according to the needs of politics, business and administration,
• Promoting the joint implementation of transnationally important projects,
• Moderation and coordination of standardization for the collection and management of geospational reference data as well as access and distribution methods,
• Supporting the expansion and further development of the national and European geodata infrastructure and the corresponding electronic services,
• Representation and presentation of official surveying and mapping,
• Collaboration with related organizations and bodies as well as with institutions for geodetic research and teaching,
• Participation in international specialist organizations to promote know-how transfer,
• Coordination on questions of technical training as well
• Promoting the joint implementation of transnationally significant projects.
